Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I measure?

It's up to you. We recommend measuring every other day. But the most important thing is to keep the morning measurement, right after waking up.

Does the app compromise user privacy?

It does not interfere. The data we have about users is not shared with anyone and is carefully secured. Additionally, in the app, we offer the option to completely delete an account along with all user data (paired activities, measurements, personal and health information).

What exactly do stress and regeneration values mean?

Thanks to the most accurate measurement of HRV by spectral analysis, we are able to capture the activity of both the regenerative and stress branches of the CNS (central nervous system). Their activity shows how stressed you are and how much regeneration you have.

How is Elonga different from smartwatches (Apple Watch, Samsung, etc.)?

If you have a smartwatch like Apple Watch, Samsung Watch, etc., and are considering using an Elonga sensor, check out elonga.com/smartwatch, where we cover the topic in detail. The primary difference is that each service specializes in something completely different and they complement each other perfectly. Elonga focuses on measuring your total body health in 3 minutes in the morning - bringing you unique objective data on stress levels, recovery, readiness and functional age. In contrast, the smartwatch is used to measure activity throughout the day - showing you how many steps you've walked, calories burned, etc.‍Elonga then synchronises the measured data into a movement plan, through which it provides you with recommendations for the most appropriate activities for each day.

What are the synchronisation options?

V rámci Elonga individuálního pohybového plánu můžete využít synchronizace dat o pohybu a aktivitách s aplikacemi Google Fit nebo Apple Health. Tyto aplikace lze propojit i s dalšími platformami monitorujícími pohyb, což umožňuje dostávat data přímo do naší aplikace. However, only the movement and activity data needed to create the movement plan is synced, so the sync does not affect the actual measurement results. So you can find out your stress level, recovery, readiness and functional age without having to enter any activities at all.‍
The data can also be added to the plan manually, so it is not necessary to own a smartwatch to use the sensor. In the future, we plan to extend the synchronisation capabilities to other platforms.

What outputs does Elonga offer? /What values does Elonga measure?

Readiness. It helps you determine the optimal load and activities for the day and then adjust them to the actual state of your body. So that you don't overload your body, but at the same time use it to its full potential.Stress: this indicator measures the activity of the sympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for stress and activation of the body. The results are displayed in a range of 0-10 compared to your peers (within the same gender and age). The user then sees an individual scale of their results, i.e. a comparison with previous days, after 5 consecutive measurements. Stress levels are influenced by a variety of factors - from sleep to physical activity to mental stress. By monitoring this indicator, we can determine what increases our stress the most and what helps us reduce it.Regeneration: indicates the activity of the parasympathetic nervous system, which provides replenishment of necessary resources and regeneration of the organism. This value helps to monitor how quickly and efficiently our body regenerates and whether it is already sufficiently prepared for the next load. The results are shown in a range of 0-10 compared to your peers (within the same gender and age. The individual scale of your results, i.e. comparison with previous days, is then visible to the user after 5 consecutive measurements.Functional Age: This indicator compares your biological age, the age your body actually feels like, to your calendar age. A lower functional age means that you are better off than the average of your age group and your body can withstand stress and strain well.‍Fitness: a fitness score shows the long-term effect of your physical activities on your body's overall fitness. It is based not only on the activities you engage in, but also on the overall condition of your body. It helps to identify which regimen improves your fitness and which does not. The score is purely individual, so it only compares your results with each other.

Plan: The weekly personalized movement plan recommends activities at three intensities (light, moderate, high) based on your current and long-term condition, and you'll get specific recommendations for appropriate movement for each day as well. The right movement at the right time is the most effective way to prevent civilization diseases, improve sleep, manage stress and increase fitness. The implementation of the plan is monitored by energy expenditure (kcal) and daily steps.

Who is Elonga for?

Elonga is for anyone who is interested in their lifestyle and would like to do something extra for their health. The sensor together with the app provide simple and easy to understand information on how to improve your quality of life and your fitness with small daily changes. In addition, it recommends a physical activity for the day as part of an individual plan and gives regular feedback on what is good for our bodies and what is harmful. Elonga is designed to adapt perfectly to your lifestyle and provide you with support to suit your exact needs.

When to start measuring?

At any time, but be aware that the results will vary at different life stages. However, it is their long-term monitoring that will help you find the best way to improve, give you a clue as to what is working for your body and allow you to make the most of your body's potential. It is not effective to use the Elonga sensor only for a limited period of time, as you will lose the ability to compare results at different stages. The only limitations come from age (measurement is suitable from 12 years of age), illness (we recommend discontinuing the measurement) or various types of long-term health problems that may bias the results (these are primarily physiological or cardiac conditions such as arrhythmia or epilepsy).

Why should measurements always be taken in the morning, immediately after waking up?

The Elonga measures the activity of the autonomic nervous system, which reflects not only our physical activity, but also psychological stress, lifestyle, diet, intake of specific substances such as caffeine or nicotine and many other factors. Therefore, to obtain the most accurate measurement results, the influence of these factors should be minimized and measured in the morning, immediately after waking up, before the first meal and before significant physical activity. It is possible to go to the toilet or drink a glass of water after waking up, which will affect the results only minimally. Standardisation is also the only way to ensure that changes in the body can be monitored clearly and effectively. For relevant results, we therefore recommend measuring yourself at least every other day.

Will Elonga help me sleep?

Elonga knows exactly how you have recovered, and sleep is a big factor in recovery. So you can use the data to see how many hours of sleep is good for you, whether you can eat before bed or whether 1 drink before bed is good for you or vice versa.

How do you measure during illness and how does illness affect the results

Elonga can be best used especially at the onset of illness - when we ourselves are not yet feeling the symptoms, but our body is. The onset of illness often leads to a drop in HRV without any other apparent cause, and the right regimen can prevent a full-blown outbreak at this stage. In general, our HRV is affected not only by diseases but also by different medications, both of which can affect the results. During the course of illness, various defensive reactions occur in our body that can both increase and decrease our HRV. Thus, the measurement results may be inaccurate during this period. We therefore recommend not using the sensor during the course of the illness and returning to the measurement only when we feel fit again. Otherwise, the app could also give you incorrect recommendations based on inaccurate results. However, it is important to note that each organism reacts individually and reactions to stimuli may vary. It is therefore important to take into account your current state of health and previous regimen when interpreting the results.
